| Section School History (as Told by Pat Patterson) 1956 was the first graduating class. This was the group that helped select the HS colors They had No football. At that time they only had basketball teams. The 1st fire chief helped promote the High School football team (1959) Dr David Campbell's Uncle MH Campbell gave the property for the school. James E Tidmore helped w the football team. Mr. Campbell and the Civic club under advisements created the Quarterback club. Red flags for the football field could be noticed from 35. 175 Member collected $800.00 for used uniforms, but they had no Coach. Bud Campbell point out Bill Haas (the assistant Scottsboro Coach) Pat took his father's tractor & scrape to level the cotton filed. J.C. Neely donated his larger tractor to break up the ground. |
